Tooth Whitening With Enlighten Evolution 3, Phillips Zoom or Polanight

Our tooth whitening treatments can be designed to suit the changes that you wish to make. Some patients aim for the super bright ‘Hollywood’ smile utilising the Enlighten Evolution 3 whitening system, whilst others are happier with a more controlled level of improvement that can be achieved with a tray based whitening gels system worn for 4 hours or less per session. The reasons for wanting whiter teeth are varied and differ from person to person from the more extreme colour change to a more discreet whitening process.

All these tooth whitening techniques are very safe and effective ways of lifting the colour of your teeth to be a dazzling picture perfect white.

You have a number of modern teeth whitening systems each with their own features and benefits with regards to the time and effort you personally have to put in to whiten your teeth. There is no magic to tooth whitening- generally being a balance between the time the gel is on the teeth for each session you undertake and the number of sessions you perform. This is then balanced against the natural colour your teeth are at the start and the desired colour you wish to be at the end. Naturally the darker the starting shade and the lighter the desired end shade the more time and effort that will be required. This is the same whichever system you use to undertake the teeth whitening. Though if you are wishing to whiten to a very light colour there is a law of diminishing returns for the effort put in against the amount colour change in the teeth. Meaning that once you have reached the bottom of what would be the normal shade scale and start moving onto the bleaching scale you need to perform more sessions to see changes occurring.

All whitening once you have reached the desired level of colour will require some maintenance to keep up that shade. The amount of effort in maintaining the shade will be determined by the level of whitest (very white teeth require much more maintaining due to the fact that the natural tooth cannot hold that level of colour without help- unless they have been covered by a porcelain veneer) and also the diet of each person. Naturally someone who eats lots of coloured foods, drinks alot of tea/coffee/red wine and smokes is going to darken their teet much quicker than someone who doesn’t do these things to the same level. Maintenance is generally very easy unless you are at the extreme end requiring usually one or two top up sessions every 6 to 12 months to keep the colour level and stable. Alot of people if they have a special event on also give their teeth a little session or two just before to freshen the shade as needed.

Dental Implants can be used to help and secure loose dentures.

The majority of denture wearers suffer discomfort as a result of loose or ill-fitting dentures. If the problems are severe this can lead to withdrawal from social engagements as a result of wearing dentures. Successful placement of dental implants addresses and solves all of these social and practical problems.

Advanced denture solutions with the latest new denture stabilisation techniques are the perfect way to provide greater denture security.
Once the implants are in place they again act like a tooth root in the
bone, allowing a denture to be securely attached, often with an audible CLICK as the denture is seated.

The Zoom Teeth whitening system or ” Laser Whitening” as it is known uses a special light activated gel which is placed onto the teeth while you are in the dental surgery and then the zoom whitespeed lamp is directed onto it. This then activates and excites the gel to speed up the effectiveness and diffusion of the gel into the teeth causing the colour change. The system runs over 4 sessions with the gel being refreshed and replaced each session to keep the colour change effect at its maximum. In combination with this “in surgery whitening” you also get custom home whitening trays as well with a finishing top up kit so that you can then maintain the colour achieved or push them a little whiter if desired.

A ‘Full Arch Tooth Replacement’ which has gradually become synonymous with the name All-on-4 dental implants, the name is given to the replacement of a large number of missing teeth or all teeth in either the upper and lower jaws. Opting for dental implants if you have no natural teeth at all will ensure that your replacement teeth look and feel natural, will function like natural teeth when you are eating and talking without having to take them out at night.

As a result, these full arch dental implant procedures are fixed permanently in place so that the only one who knows you have dental implants is you. It is very important to replace missing teeth to not only preserve the functionality of your mouth, but also to allow you to chew food easily. If you are missing most or all of your teeth, there is a chance your cheeks may begin to sag inwards and make you appear older than you are.

Alternative techniques such as activated charcoal and oil pulling are simply a social myth and cannot and do not actually whiten teeth. Simply maybe removing some surface stains similar to the old style smokers toothpastes. Actual teeth bleaching can only occur by the action of the hydogen peroxide molecules breaking down the colour chains within the tooth structure itself thus lightening the colour of the tooth. No real difference in effect to if you spill bleach onto your clothes- don’t use this on your teeth though as it is a different type of peroxide and will burn and ulcerate your mouth!

We will discuss these issues with you at your initial consultation and also explain more about the different procedures and pros and cons of each- such as speed (Zoom Teeth Whitening), intensity (Enlighten Evolution 3) or slow comfortable gradual change ( Pola / Boutique Whitening). This is also an excellent opportunity to ask any general oral health questions that you might have about this, or any other cosmetic dental treatment for removing stains and discolouration.

Providing that you are a suitable candidate for a teeth whitening procedure, and that your teeth are not so heavily filled with stained fillings or have crowned front teeth (non natural tooth structure does not change colour with any whitening technique- you will then likely require other cosmetic treatment techniques in combination with whitening as well if this is the case). We can arrange the required appointments for the procedure chosen.

Whilst a teeth whitening treatment is not inherently dangerous, it can be damaging in the wrong hands. It is now illegal to perform this procedure if you are not a dentist or dental professional- people are regularly being prosecuted for this. Never risk your teeth in this way; instead talk to Azure Dental about our tooth whitening treatment options. Previously, inexperienced unqualified people were setting up teeth whitening clinics, often using strong solutions of acid and bleach to whiten teeth. This could be very painful and damaging to the tooth enamel by dissolving away the surface layers of enamel and burning the gums badly. The only products that should ever be used on teeth are professionally researched and manufactured whitening gels.

What our happy customers say

Implants are a very predictable treatment option. They have good long term success rates but require regular care and maintenance to ensure they remain healthy for as long as possible.

Implants are generally placed under local anaesthetic. Once numb treatment is carried out with the very minimum of discomfort.

No, your dentist will show you how to clean any hard to reach areas around the implant. But you’ll mostly clean them as you would your normal teeth.

Dental implants are designed to provide a long term solution to your gap(s). They require less frequent replacement than other solutions such as dentures or bridgework, making them an overall cost-effective solution to replace a missing tooth (teeth).
